Job Description
Overview and Essential Functions CableCom is hiring individuals to splice and activate fiber cable at our Fresno, California location. Preferred candidates will have 12 months of experience splicing fiber and/or the ability to do all of the job responsibilities independently. Primary responsibilities include ability to splice/test/repair cables/wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and taking splicing field notes. Candidate must be capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions and be able to pass a background check and drug screen. We offer competitive pay and an extensive benefits package. Pay Range: $25 - $38 per hour Responsibilities: Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles) Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily production Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts Frequently work independently Other splicing related duties as assigned Qualifications Who we are looking for… You will have one or more years experience as a fiber splicer with experience on outside plant or system installations while working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation You are able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card You have a valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License You will have a high school diploma or equivalent You are able to lift up to 80 lbs Benefits and Company Summary Benefits Include Competitive Pay.
