Job Description
Position Overview


The Festival Associate Manager, Accessibility is charged with managing key accessibility elements of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival (SFF24) including overseeing all aspects of the Festival accommodation process, creating resources and training around accessibility and supporting the Safety & Belonging team in ensuring that the Festival is equitable for all.


Working closely under the direction of the Accessibility Manager, the Festival Associate Manager Accessibility supports Sundance Institute’s commitment to providing an inclusive Festival experience for artists, audiences, partners, employees, and volunteers from all communities.


This temporary position works full time from Monday, October 30, 2023 through Friday, February 9, 2024 and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. This position is based out of our Park City, Utah office and will be expected to perform onsite work duties as of Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Employees may start in a commutable distance to Park City, UT or remotely from a state we currently legally operate in until the required onsite work date listed above.


Top priorities include but are not limited to…


  • Building structure and scope around all communication services including managing relationships with ASL & CART Vendors, including rate negotiation.
  • Assisting at any screenings where accessible accommodation has been implemented
  • Leading Artist teams in their communication and coordination with any artists that have accessibility requests or inquiries as it relates to communication access.
  • Developing a system for receiving and managings requests, inquiries, concerns, or feedback related to Festival accessibility.
  • Working with Manager, Accessibility on various accessibility projects, as directed.
  • Managing the creation and operational implementation of all Festival accommodations for artists, invited guests, patrons, employees, and volunteers.
  • Creating and implementing culturally-appropriate resources and training materials for employees, volunteers, and Festival partners.
  • Completing a comprehensive written wrap report.


You Have The Following Direct Or Transferable Skill Sets


  • 3 years of relevant or transferable experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritization of urgent tasks.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and an ability to manage stressful situations is preferred.
  • Understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and event accessibility.
  • Communication skills required to work effectively with a variety of people and communication styles.
  • Experience in working with people with disabilities, coordinating American Sign Language(ASL)/Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) vendors, and implementing environmental accommodations is preferred.
