Feature Reporter Jobs

KUTV News is looking to hire a Feature Reporter. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to handle live, breaking news; conduct live interviews on a variety of topics; have a high-level of engagement on all social media platforms. This person needs to come in each day with ideas and lots of creativity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate compelling storytelling and ability to be part of an on-air team reacting to the big stories of the day
• Ability to serve as a multi-media journalist, where at times, could be asked to write, shoot and edit stories.
• Any other media gathering and reporting duties that the GM, News Director, or Regional Promotions Director assign.
• Build network of sources who supply information that allows the Company to stay ahead of its competitors
• Work with management to enterprise and develop stories daily on the entertainment / social media beats
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
• Produce content for multiple platforms, including TV, web, mobile, social media, and YouTube.

Requirements & Skills:

• Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation
• 3 years television reporting experience required
• Bachelor's degree in Communication/Journalism or related degree required (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education)
• Promotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all station personnel
• Strong reporting skills
• Operate newsroom computer systems
• Understand importance of social media
• Maintain an on-air persona that is friendly and authoritative
