Description

State Auto Farm & Ranch Territory Manager can sit remotely in WV, VA, NC, SC or GA.


The Farm & Ranch Territory Manager is responsible for managing an assigned territory comprised of independent agencies. This role is also responsible for the growth of personal and small commercial lines of business through acting as a strategic partner for those independent agencies, as well as through marketing and selling company products and highlighting features and benefits that will grow revenue and profit for both State Auto and the agency. The Farm & Ranch Territory Manager will collaborate with members of the product management team to ensure adequate pricing and competitive products, with the goal of overall profitable growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Recommend the appointment and termination of agencies within the assigned territory.
  • Act as the primary owner of all agency relationships within the assigned territory.
  • Continuously gather critical local market information through both internal and external data sources to understand the territory market, industry trends, and competitor products in order to create a competitive advantage for State Auto.
  • Act as a strategic partner for appointed agencies within the assigned territory to assist them with meeting production goals established by State Auto through building relationships with agencies, providing feedback on an agencies' sales practices and strategies, and knowing those agencies better than anyone else.
  • Analyze territory results in order to optimize the assigned territory, identify growth opportunities for agencies and ensure that State Auto has engaged the right agencies for the territory.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor`s degree and 5+ years of sales/insurance industry experience strongly preferred or combination of high school education and experience required.
  • CPCU, CIC, M.B.A, other continued education and industry designations a plus.
  • Limited national travel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently. Ability to travel extensively throughout a defined territory may be required.
  • Ability to effectively manage a territory of agency partner accounts and leverage profitable growth.
  • Self-motivated and driven by results.
  • Excellent skills in relationship building, negotiation, coaching, overcoming barriers, and capitalizing on growth opportunities.
