Expense Management, Audit & Reporting Specialist

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for processing all aspects of payroll for union employees in multiple states.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reconciles payroll-related general ledger and prepares reports or statements summarizing payroll-related accounts. May interface with third-party payroll vendors.
  • Process union payroll through the SAP system and ensure accurate and timely running of the union payroll.
  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Ensure attention to detail and accuracy of payroll records, excellent problem solving/judgment skills for various employee inquiries and issues.
  • Process weekly and year end general ledger entries.
  • Coordinate and process the union vacation payout in January and July.
  • Inputs changes, which may include changes to employees or employee statuses, exemptions or withholdings, or bank information.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to effectively communicate information to employees and management.
  • Proficient in Excel (must have advance excel formula knowledge), Word and Outlook.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, preferred.
  • Ability to interface with and satisfy the needs of diverse groups-ranging from corporate to operations people.
  • Proven customer service skills while maintaining a confidential work environment.
  • Experience with for payroll processing and report writing systems such as ADP Time and Attendance, ADP Global View, SAP, Concur.
  • Must have previous experience processing payrolls in SAP or GlobalView.
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local tax laws.
  • 2-4 years of Payroll processing experience for a multi-state employer with multiple locations.
