The goal of the Executive Sous Chef is to work directly with and in the absence of the Executive Chef to maintain and improve the culinary operations. The ideal Executive Sous Chef will accomplish this by monitoring the daily functions of the culinary department, including providing support and guidance to the culinary team, ending in a positive guest and colleague experience.
Our food and beverage operations include Chez Maggy, Bar M, Duel Coffee, Reynard Social, and Banquets.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in marketing events directly related to their specific restaurant.
- Assume the role of liaison between all dining room and banquet operations and culinary staff.
- Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis.
- Act as senior leadership by developing and assuming key management responsibilities.
- Develop and implement creative menu items within the restaurant and hotel concept.
- Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items.
- Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and colleague engagement results.
- Manage and develop other key culinary leadership rolls including supervisors and Sous Chefs.
- Plan, coordinate & implement special events and holiday functions.
- Manage hourly kitchen colleagues through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring.
Qualifications
- Proficient in general computer knowledge;
- Culinary education and/or on the job training, hotel and independent restaurant experience is preferred:
- Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills;
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner;
- Ability to model our purpose and values to colleagues
- Experience with training, financial management and customer service;
- A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast paced customer service environment;
- In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations;
- Strong training and communication skills;
The budgeted range for this position is $75,000-85,000. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.
