Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.

The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions has an Immediate opening for an Executive Director of Nursing. What you will do:
  • Oversee processes to ensure all sites meet accreditation and regulatory standards and take appropriate action if a remedy is needed
  • Monitor, measure, and report on operational issues, opportunities, and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timelines
  • Work collaboratively with operational partners to assure student success and faculty excellence
  • Travel to assigned ABSN sites based on agreed-upon schedule and as needed
  • Direct problem-solving and quality improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for supervision, support, goal setting, training, and coaching of assigned Director of Nursing Services (DNS)
  • Responsible for successful ABSN site preparation and program launch in their assigned markets
  • Develop and manage operational and capital budgets for assigned ABSN sites through established processes
  • Work with each Director of Nursing to maintain clinical partnership relationships at each ABSN site and develop new clinical site agreements
What you will need:
  • Multi-site/multi-state leadership experience preferred
  • Active, current, and unencumbered RN license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction required Multi-state RN license preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience preferably in higher education
  • CNE or CNEcl preferred
  • Graduate degree in nursing required and Doctorate degree preferred from an accredited program (CCNE or ACEN) within a regionally accredited college or university
  • Evidence of participation in regulatory and/or accreditation activities/accountabilities
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing practice with demonstrated evidence of high-level accountability for systems-level outcomes (including management of human resources) during that time
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
  • Prior nursing leadership experience required; Academic leadership experience strongly preferred
