Job Description
Position Summary


The Executive Director of CitySquare Paris is responsible for the organization’s operations, project oversight and management, regulatory compliance, fundraising and implementation of CitySquare’s human and community development mission in Paris, Texas.


Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field, including social work, business, theology, non-profit management


Experience: 5 years of experience in the nonprofit community development sector and 3-5 years of experience in developing/fundraising preferred


Licensure/Certification: n/a


Additional Requirements: Must be highly motivated, self-starter and coalition builder with a vision for the transformation of fighting poverty by means of direct services, advocacy, and friendship.


Primary Responsibilities


This section describes the primary responsibilities of an employee in this position. Please note: The primary responsibilities of this position are not limited to this list.


  • Help in recruiting and growing a diverse “CitySquare Paris Advisory Board” and maintain relations and communication with Advisory Board members – ensure that the Board meets a minimum of four (4) times annually.
  • Oversee the financial and administrative functions of CitySquare Paris; produce Annual Operating Plans and Operating Budgets.
  • Strategically solve problems that encompass the larger view of the organization and establish goals, objectives, policies, and procedures utilizing an understanding of organizational dynamics.
  • Serve as the CitySquare Paris liaison to the CitySquare Board of Directors.
  • Work with CitySquare’s Development Department to build fundraising capacity for CitySquare Paris locally and statewide.
  • Identify ways in which other program areas within the larger CitySquare family can collaborate with CitySquare Paris projects and work with other department directors to make these collaborations successful.
  • Seek out new grant opportunities, maintain ongoing schedule of grant application deadlines, and apply for and submit grants to obtain consistent funding.
  • Supervise the staff of CitySquare Paris. This currently includes the Program Director, Resource Navigator, Sports and Facilities Coordinator, Teen Center Coordinator and AmeriCorps team members.
  • Ensure that all projects and functions operate within the requirements of applicable rules, laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a resource person to the surrounding community for CitySquare Paris, as well as for CitySquare programs and services.
  • Produce annual and monthly Outcomes reports - submit timely to the Vice President of Community Services. Work with VP of Community Services to understand reporting requirements and to develop meaningful metrics.
  • Consult with the CEO of CitySquare regarding overall performance of CitySquare Paris and interpret the changing needs of the community ensuring that operations and projects operate within the scope of the CitySquare’s Mission. Expect job evaluations to be conducted at 90 days, 6 months, and annually thereafter.
  • Oversee the department’s existing operational policies and procedures; identify areas that require improvements or change and implement these changes.
  • Work directly with the Human Resources Manager ensuring that all personnel actions are within the best interest of the organization and follow federal, state and city regulations.
  • Oversee the proposal, design, bidding/contract and implementation processes of community development and engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain cordial and professional relationships with the Board of Directors, the Advisory Board in Paris, Donors, Government Officials, department heads in Dallas and the non-profit community in Paris, Texas.
  • Manage public relations activities and the production of communication vehicles for the department; attend public events; conduct speeches or information sessions in Paris, Texas.
  • Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of CitySquare Paris.

  • Ability to use both hands in fine and gross manipulation of small tools (copier, computer, telephone).
  • Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to stand and walk daily to retrieve forms/supplies for other departments.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 10 lbs. (File cabinet drawers, computer paper boxes).

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF): We are a qualifying employer for the PSLF Program. The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Student Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
