An Event Server sets up, breaks down, & hosts Eataly Chicago in-person & virtual events in multiple locations of the store at a banquet rate. Will help to coordinate the entire event service station and communicate with front of the house and back of the house personnel to provide an event experience that exceeds guest expectations. Reports to the Education & Events Manager.

• Assists table support team with stocking work stations, removing and resetting used dishes/silverware
• Receives food and beverage orders from guests and relays to kitchen staff and bartender using a POS system
• Performs other duties as required or assigned
• Greets guests and presents them with the menu
• Presents, opens and pours wine and beer when serving guests
• Communicates with the hosts, table support team, kitchen staff and bartenders to coordinate stations
• Assists with cash register
• Informs guests of specials, menu changes, answers questions regarding food, beverages and allergies

• Knowledge of the sequence of service and dining room procedures
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic math skills

Job Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
