Manhattan College Non-Credit Programs is seeking a Summer ESL Coordinator. The position will run from June 12, 2023 - August 12, 2023 Manhattan College Campus and Mount Saint Vincent Campus
ESL students typically range from 14-to 20 years old.

At any one time, there will be approximately 20 to 40 ESL instructors leading classes per week.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare work shifts schedules for ESL instructors

• Help recruit hourly ESL instructors, when needed

• Assist in training incoming instructors

• Ensure that ESL instructors are present at their classes

• Make all efforts for students to experience an excellent educational program: over 2,200 students expected

• Support the Manhattan College English Language Director in all related administrative activities as needed. These include: classroom reservations, classroom allocations, and management, creating classroom and student schedules, curricula design and implementation by ESL instructors

• Ensure that when/if instructors are sick, or otherwise unable to lead their classes, alternative arrangements (e.g. temporarily combining classes; contacting on-call, substitute teachers; perhaps filling in for an instructor) are made in a timely manner

• Be the point contact between students and ESL trainers

• Be the point of contact with client partners

• Inform staff in charge of ESL students of classroom schedules and support them as needed

- Typical work hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

• Salary: $35.00/hour

Minimum Requirements:

• Two years’ ESL instructional experience
• MA TESOL or related Masters degree
• Curriculum development and lesson-planning experience

- Reliable availability from June 1st - August 9th, 2022

• Legal US work authorization
• High proficiency in using Google Drive and Learning Management Systems
• Comfortable in a fast-paced working environment
• Resourceful, reliable, level-headed, and entrepreneurial

Strongly Desired:

• Supervisory experience
• Classroom scheduling experience
• Positive attitude
