About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Principal to join our fast-growing team. The position is a critical hire, with the individual expected to make a significant contribution to the success of our business while strengthening our reputation as an elite advisory firm.


The successful candidate will lead multiple client engagements across our primary client segments, take ownership for the seamless delivery of consulting projects, and manage a team of consultants to develop and deliver effective solutions for our clients. The Principal will be confident interacting with C-suite executives and other senior-level stakeholders on a regular basis and is expected to have deep knowledge of key trends relating to ESG and sustainability in capital markets.


The role requires a unique combination of commercial awareness, relationship-building abilities, sustainability knowledge and subject matter expertise, with critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills. The individual will report to a Director. Key Responsibilities:

· Work as part of a multidisciplinary team servicing a range of industries and client segments (typically asset owners, asset managers, and general partners across asset classes, as well as corporates and NGOs)

· Manage multiple engagements across client segments while interfacing with senior management and establishing a trusted relationship with key project stakeholders

· Manage a team of direct reports, guiding their work and providing direction and mentorship when needed

· Work in collaboration to develop a vision for the team, including being accountable for the overall effectiveness of the team in supporting the business objectives

· Develop solutions (both quantitative and qualitative) that span across ESG strategy and investment integration, impact measurement and management, ESG/impact education, materiality assessments, metrics/KPI analysis, ESG reporting, and thought leadership

· Ensure solutions respond to the variety of expectations from stakeholders, the evolving policy and regulatory environment, and the dynamic nature of ESG and impact

· Assess the impact of proposed solutions on a client’s unique risks and opportunities

· Manage the delivery of solutions; maintain a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude when it comes to producing client work

· Recognize accountability to our clients for the quality and success of consulting projects and drive this culture across project teams

· Review legal documentation, resource plan, calculate utilization rates, and ensure projects are staffed appropriately and effectively

· Actively manage client relationships and all phases of project lifecycle; ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget

· Participate in and contribute to weekly business development and strategy & operations meetings

· Role requires the ability to travel



Additional Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with our senior leadership team on new business development opportunities; craft associated marketing materials, pitches, and website content

· Develop novel client solutions, forecast timelines, write proposals, and estimate project fees

· Expand our internal knowledge base and library of team resources

· Contribute to firm’s external profile; grow the firm’s social media presence and marketplace visibility

· Represent our brand by writing blogs, social media posts, and participating in webinars and industry forums

· Be an ambassador of our culture/values and drive forward our mission to reshape markets

Minimum Qualifications:

· 7-10+ years of experience gained from work in strategy, consulting, ESG, sustainable or impact investing, sustainable business, or another relevant field

· Expert-level knowledge of corporate sustainability and ESG investing, with a deep understanding of ESG datasets (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics), leading standards and frameworks (e.g., SASB, GRI, TCFD), major initiatives (e.g., Principles for Responsible Investment), and ESG integration across asset classes

· Familiarity with climate change risks and opportunities; experience with climate risk assessments, scenario analysis, and/or GHG emissions is a plus

· Experience as a team manager with a track record of leading teams to successful outcomes

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; preferably a master’s degree

· Advanced MS Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel) skills
