Equity Research Associate - Industrials

Position Summary:

Jefferies is seeking an associate for its Electrical Equipment / Multi-Industry Equity Research team. The candidate will support the team in writing extensive company and industry research, constructing detailed company financial models, and marketing written research recommendations to clients and institutional salespeople.

Responsibilities:

• Develop relationships with management teams and industry contacts
• Create and maintain earnings and valuation models
• Over time, communicate team’s stock views and industry themes to institutional investors, trading desks, and other internal constituencies within Jefferies
• Analyze industry trends and compile findings
• Write research publications on industry trends and stock recommendations
• Attend company events, industry conferences, and trade shows
• Produce marketing materials for clients

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
• Superior financial statement modeling skills with demonstrated self-auditing abilities
• 2-3 yrs. of experience in investment banking, equity research, accounting, journalism or related fields a plus
• Undergraduate background in finance, accounting, or journalism / English majors with strong analytical skills
• Highly detail-oriented
• Strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000.
