Job Information
Job Summary
The Temporary Junior Research Associate position provides technical support activities related to scientific research projects in the lab. This full time position is ideal for those wishing to gain experience in a research laboratory before applying for graduate school in neuroscience.
Responsibilities:
Lab maintenance:
  • Order, receive and setup lab equipment.
  • Responsible for lab inventory management.
  • Interact with campus research and compliance committees (communication and meetings).
  • General lab upkeep.
  • Oversee research compliance.
Rat colony management:
  • Breeding and genotyping.
  • General animal handling and care.

Assist in experiments:
  • Provide technical support to lab members.
  • Prepare experimental equipment.
  • Perform experiments and procedures to support data collection.

Additional Requirements
Education, Experience or Certifications:
Education:
  • BA or BS in a biology discipline required.
Experience:
  • Six months working in a biology research laboratory required.
