Job Description

Environmental Specialist (Air), Midland, TX

BTA Oil Producers, LLC is seeking an Environmental Specialist responsible for coordinating BTA’s air compliance program.This position will report to the Environmental Manager and would be tasked with performing all day-to-day air-related items to maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations.This position will be mainly office-based Monday – Friday flex time schedule, with occasional field visits as needed.

Required Experience / Skills


Strong familiarity with federal air compliance rules and regulations

Air Permitting

Experience at the federal and some sort of state level related to air compliance regulations

Capable of interpreting and adjusting to the continual changing air regulations

Strong communication skills capable of coordinating with multiple disciplines throughout the company

High comfort level with computer programs and spreadsheets

Highly organized

Highly motivated


Preferred Experience:


Air permitting specific to upstream oil and gas operations

Strong knowledge of Texas and New Mexico air related rules, permitting, and reporting requirements

3 years Oil and Gas related, preferably upstream


Job specific duties to include, but not limited to:


Air Permitting for Texas and New Mexico oil & gas production facilities

LDAR program maintenance and continual improvement

OOOOa annual reporting

New Mexico C115B reporting, other New Mexico required reporting

Weekly, Monthly AVO program maintenance and continual improvement

Reporting necessary to adhere to New Mexico and Texas emission release requirements

Management of consulting agencies when applicable

Occasional travel to air related conferences and meetings with regulatory personnel

Occasional remote weekend emission reporting for events that require 24-hour notification (New Mexico).
