Environmental Protection Specialist (Must Be A Us Citizen)

Provide environmental support to Coast Guard Training Center (TRACEN) Petaluma and US Coast Guard units through the area of responsibility. TRACEN Petaluma provides environmental support to 837 acres of Training and Base support infrastructure across 810,000 square feet of facilities. Environmental Support Services include environmental compliance, hazardous material program management, biological and cultural reviews and consultations, and environmental planning support (environmental impact reviews and permitting). Together these services support the maintenance and construction of USCG shore facilities, real property actions, and long-term capital planning. The purpose of this position is to provide the necessary level of administrative, professional, and technical support required to facilitate environmental planning and compliance of TRACEN Petaluma. The contractor shall provide those services, personnel, materials, and related equipment to perform the work delineated herein.
Requirements

• Tailored Environmental Specialist qualification requirements: Personnel required to perform the services described in this Statement of Work shall also meet the following minimum qualifications:
• Basic familiarity with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
• The contractor shall be responsible for employing technically qualified personnel to perform the work specified in this Statement of Work.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in the environmental field (may include internships or work during college).
• Experience with environmental permitting procedures utilized by the Federal Government is required.
• Knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams
• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental & Biological Studies, Cultural Studies, or a related field.
