Parsons is adding to our environmental services team! We are hiring environmental geologist with 0 to 12 years’ experience with a desire to support various federal projects across the country in all aspects of environmental investigation and remediation, and an anticipated focus on PFAS. Junior staff (0 – 3 years) to be based in Boston, Austin, Denver, or Atlanta. Ability to work virtually commensurate with experience with non-virtual options available to specific locations - inquire during interview.

What you will be doing:

• Participate on multiple teams simultaneously working on varied projects pertaining to - PFAS investigation and remediation, military munitions response, and/or other hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste contamination
• Assist in geological mapping and in performing basic geologic, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry tasks including preparation of cross sections and compilation of environmental sample analyses
• Assist with the drafting of technical proposal and project documents, such as work plans, UFP-QAPPs, and closure reports
• Perform soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling efforts
• Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories

What required skills you bring:

• Working knowledge of software packages typically associated with the discipline
• A Cover Letter is requested
• Strong communication and writing skills - an example of an authored writing assignment will be requested
• 4-year degree in geological sciences, or related discipline
• Demonstration of success in working in a team environment, being an excellent team player as well as a leader, as applicable
• Professional Geologist/Geoscientist Registration, or application in process
• For Junior staff, willingness to travel to project sites and perform field work up to 60% of time

What desired skills you’ll bring:

• Environmental sampling experience of various media using multiple sampling techniques and field equipment
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training, or ability to obtain upon hiring
• Master’s Degree in geology, or related discipline
• Experience with PFAS projects with advanced PFAS technical training provided
• Task or project leadership experience both in the field and office and willingness to train and develop junior employees

Ability to perform leadership role supporting PFAS and conventional contaminant projects

Salary Range:

$42,400.00 - $74,200.00
