- Integrate effective project management and quality methods to manage fast-paced projects of high complexity.
- Support new business development efforts, including grant and proposal writing.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and relationships to grow business and project opportunities.
- Facilitate professional development to diverse audiences.
- Develop high quality training materials, toolkits, curricula, briefs and other resources focused on English learners.
- Manage technical assistance projects and teams that apply research and evidence with state and local entities, including setting timelines, managing tasks, creating reports, and ensuring reviews are complete.
- Mentor and grow staff capacity to provide high-quality technical assistance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, advisor, and thought partner to district and/or state leaders
- Keep current on research and strategies.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity in all interactions with colleagues, stakeholders, and study participants.
- Report on effective instructional strategies for English learners that help administrators and educators connect research to practice.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Experience with proposals and contract-based projects.
- Extensive knowledge in areas related to educational supports for English learners.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching and/or school administration experience.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; or a PhD with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in education.
- Experience in the development/design, facilitation and/or coordination with various aspects of training and coaching support for language development.
Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching and leadership.
- Publication record preferred but not required.
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a project team while prioritizing multiple objectives to meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to produce concise, high-level summaries and briefings accessible to broad audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writing with experience writing grant proposals, answering requests for proposals, developing business or strategic plans.
- Demonstrated leadership for managing staff and project teams.
- Capacity to develop resources, write briefs, blogs, and articles targeted toward various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
- Established networks in the field (federal, state, local, foundation) with a willingness to draw on, cultivate, and expand relationships on behalf of AIR.
Disclosures:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

AIR’s Total Rewards Program, is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $118,000 - $140,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
