Job Description

The position of the Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting the Engineering Department in various programs. The Engineering Technician will assist in the administration of permits for work within Public Rights-of-Way.

This is a seasonal position that will work June through mid October.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in reviewing plans, laboratory tests, and other information to assure conformance with public improvements and infrastructure construction guidelines.
  • Assist in the collection, organization, maintenance, and updating of data, maps, and plans for various Town projects.
  • Assist in monitoring and inspecting the construction of public improvements and sites for conformance with contract documents and agreements and recommends corrective measures during construction and warranty periods.
  • Assist in the administration of permits for work within Public Rights-of-Way.

Qualifications

Program Instructor I position requires applicants to be at least 16 years of age, have a state issued ID and experience with school-age children (5-12 years old) is preferred but is not required, training will be provided. Possession of a current CPR/AED/First Aid certificate is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
