The Engineer is responsible for implementing basic mechanical engineering technologies and using the design tools and executing engineering designs for assigned proposals & projects. Candidates for this position are expected to have a minimum of 3-5 years engineering experience in a design engineering role. Preferred candidates will have industrial plant or system design experience and be familiar with typical industrial mechanical equipment, including rotating equipment, heat exchangers, steaming equipment tanks, pressure vessels and gas ducting. Candidates must demonstrate teamwork, leadership, multi-tasking, and planning skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Engineer capability on all projects, with the additional capability of leading multiple large projects concurrently
Perform broader design engineering activities involving the design of vessels, equipment, systems, components, etc.
Design of steam, gas and chemical process equipment and systems including thin-walled duct design
Gather and organize information to assist in developing designs, specifications, and drawings of equipment
Perform technical evaluations of bids and recommendation for purchase, for any equipment or vessel type
Review vendor/shop drawings review to assure compliance with design/specifications
Develop technical reports, manpower estimates, schedules, etc.
Assist in coaching and training new engineers and designers
Perform field inspection, checkout-commissioning, trouble shooting and startup
Assist with development of technical scope and cost estimates for proposals
Collaborate well with project team members and vendors
Attend appropriate technical conferences and/or training as required
Job Qualifications
Key Knowledge Skills and Abilities
4-year Mechanical Engineering degree with 3-5 years of experience
EIT and/or PE preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Strong organization skills
Ability to travel if required
Demonstration of working well within a team atmosphere is required
