PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

New employees are eligible for a $5,000 bonus; with $2,500 paid on the first payroll, and $2,500 paid upon successful completion of the 6 month introductory period.

The Hiring range for the following positions is $98,187.84-$153,418.50/Annually

Senior Engineer- Transportation

The Transportation Projects Delivery (TPD) Group within the Public Works Department promotes and maintains a high level of economic welfare and quality of life in Aurora by making improvements to the City's transportation and drainage infrastructure. TPD projects include widenings and retrofits to existing infrastructure, new construction, and everything between. Working on the team provides a unique opportunity to remain with a project through its planning, design, and construction phases.

Project Engineer- Facilities Project Delivery

Public Works – Facilities Project Delivery is involved on the planning, reviewing, developing and coordinating the design and construction city owned buildings. Responsibility and roles within the organization include: project management of capital improvements and new building construction. Project management includes project planning, design, budget management and construction oversite and other duties as assigned. Efficiently and effectively execute building projects; may be responsible for planning, administering and completing assigned projects, which may cross several functional areas, such as facilities, operations, water resources, construction, engineering, program applications, marketing or administration. May provide direction to a project team including assignment of individual responsibilities, tasks and technical functions; identifies needs and allocates the appropriate resources to meet the timely completion of specific project tasks; assists in the development of the project scope and objectives; assists in creating work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.

Project Engineer

Public Works - Project Engineer for transportation capital improvement projects as part of the Transportation Project Delivery Group of the Engineering Services Division of the Public Works Department. Project Engineers’ primary responsibilities are transportation project scoping, design development and construction management.

Design Engineer - Transportation:

The Transportation Projects Delivery (TPD) team within the Public Works Department is looking for a motivated, self-starter to perform planning, estimating, design, and construction engineering related tasks for transportation capital improvement projects. Design Engineers work under the direction of Professional Engineers in the development of project construction bid documents including construction plans, design calculations and reports, construction specifications, bid quantity tabulations, and project specifications. Design engineers also prepare cost estimates, perform field investigations, and assist project managers with design, project coordination, and construction-related tasks on multiple projects at various stages of completion.
