As the Engineer, Technology Network, you will be responsible for monitoring the health of mission critical systems associated with both internal infrastructure and customer facing systems. You will work closely within the department and various tech teams to ensure our monitoring solutions are applied in a deliberate, measured, and precise way. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Manage and configure multiple network services including DNS, DHCP, NTP, RADIUS
- Maintain, and mature all route, switch, security and network configurations
- Configure, implement, and secure high-density wireless network including all 802.11 standards and security protocols
- Install, configure and troubleshoot various different network architecture
- Configure and troubleshoot firewall objects and policies using a strong “least privileged access” mentality
- Monitor and respond quickly to any performance and/or security issues
- Update and enhance Business Continuity plans and Disaster Recovery services.
- Actively participate in the upgrade, patching, and installation of new and existing equipment.
- Provide customer friendly technical support and guidance to users as needed
- Identify and document all network hardware and software using a variety of sources
- Configure and implement business solutions from the simple to the fairly complex.
- Constantly strive for improvements in network performance, uptime and security
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
- Working knowledge of SDN and SD-WAN
- Working knowledge of all aspects of wireless networking and security
- Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent related work or military experience
- Strong understanding of all the standard routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
- Strong Cisco technical background in route, switch and security
- Strong knowledge of NGFW technologies including Palo Alto, CheckPoint, and Cisco
- 2 years of applicable Network Engineering/Operations experience on a large Enterprise Class, multi-site network
- A strong work ethic, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail
- Flexible schedule, this position will involve some weekend and evening work as needed
- Expert in Subnetting in a complex environment
- Ability to work complex carrier/network issues to resolution
- Experience working with carriers and ISP’s for complex service delivery
It’d be great if you also have:
- Working knowledge of Cloud networking including GCP, OCI and Azure
- Experience with monitoring software/tools (Solarwinds NPM, Infoblox, Prime)
- Experience with Extreme Wireless technologies
- Working knowledge of F5 BIG-IP
- Proficiency with productivity software and various web browsers
- Experience with Cisco’s SD-WAN, DMVPN

Employees are paid within a salary range based on their experience, skill set, and market.
Colorado annual salary range: $73,976 to $92,470
New York annual salary range: $77,499 to $96,873
California annual salary range: $81,021 to $101,277
Washington State annual salary range: $77,499 to $96,873
Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set (e.g., if an applicant far exceeds the minimum and preferred qualifications for the role).
In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for a sign-on bonus, annual and long-term incentive awards, and an equity buyout award.
