A Day in the Life
Medtronic is currently searching for a Senior Industrial Engineer to join our growing team. In this exciting role in the Bedford/Billerica facility, you will have responsibility for supporting the manufacturing of high-quality and complex catheters to support the Cardiac Ablation Solutions Business. In this role you will be part of a team that grows the operations capacity over 8X to support our customer needs in this newly acquired product portfolio. You will lead improvements in manufacturing quality, capacity, and stability through solving problems, developing solutions, and executing strategies. The chosen candidate will have experience and expertise in OpEx initiatives.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
- May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
- May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
- On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
- Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Bachelors degree required in a related engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Biomedical, etc)
Nice to Have
- Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, process execution, good communication skills
- Line Balancing knowledge and experience
- Mfg workstation design knowledge and experience
- Advanced Autocad
- Industrial Ergonomics Certification / Training, preferable from Humantech and Velocity EHS Software knowledge
- MOST Work Measurement Systems Training / Certification preferable (reference in the attachment)
- DMAIC / Problem Solving Training
