Job Summary

We’re seeking a Software Automation developer to join our team, which is responsible for developing automation scripts against Xumo Smart TV experiences. Xumo TV is an affordable and innovative smart TV developed by Comcast in collaboration with Hisense, Element, and other OEM partners. This has an integrated interface and voice remote to access customer's favorite live and on-demand streaming content from hundreds of apps and services. We are primarily responsible for working alongside the QA, Product, and Development teams in the Philadelphia office to produce high-quality entertainment applications.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform code reviews of automation scripts and front-end codebases in a version control system like GIT
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Analyze and automate REST web services called by the application for display of data and error handling
• Write automated test code, using the same standards as a Software Engineer, that allows for repeatable, reliable testing solutions to test the wide functionality of products and software
• Automate and execute (in every release) new features, performance scripts to measure speed, reliability and resiliency of the software
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
• Serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques
• Execute automated test scripts every release on CICD pipeline and fix the failures accordingly
• Collaborate with the Automation team to translate E2E regression test cases into automation scripts

Attributes for Success

• 4+ years of experience working with Cucumber automation framework
• Ability to effectively collaborate and the take the ownership to refactor code based on industry standards and best practices
• Strong experience with GIT Version Control System
• Strong experience working with JIRA and knowledge of Agile ceremonies
• Ability to effectively collaborate and participate in technical architecture meetings with other Software Engineers in Philadelphia
• 5-8+ years of experience working with automation of different applications
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript
• Ability to take initiatives to resolve the roadblocks and implement technical changes
• Strong experience with Cypress automated testing framework
• 4+ years of experience working with CICD (Jenkins or Concourse- preferred)
• Performance automation experience using JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus
