We are currently seeking an Energy Efficiency Consultant to join our Northeast Energy Efficiency team to provide critical program support and technical services for Massachusetts based energy efficiency programs.

What you will be doing:
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to architects, engineers, contractors, and other trade allies participating in utility-sponsored new construction programs. Must be able to effectively communicate to both technical trade allies and non-technical audiences.
  • Assess commercial grade whole building efficiency strategies, building plans and specifications, and make recommendations for energy efficiency upgrades or improvements.
  • Assist in the coordination of weekly team meetings to review project forecasting pipelines, prepare client deliverables, and track meeting minutes.
  • Maintain strong ongoing communications with participating contractors and consultants in order to facilitate their enrollment in the program and to encourage future participation.
  • Maintain account records in a CRM tool and prepare status reports to monitor progress towards program goals and the completion of eligible projects.
  • Perform desktop Quality Assurance / Quality Control to review and verify energy model accuracy and adherence to program standards, utilizing data collected during site visits and/or project building plans.
  • Attend events to build and maintain relationships with key market actors in the home improvement industry including architects, engineers, contractors, energy raters, consultants, home inspectors, public officials, public interest groups, and customers.
  • Contribute to the evolution of program strategies and the design of program features, services, and marketing campaigns.
  • Work alongside the Technical team to perform energy modeling on various projects including but not limited to high rise residential/commercial new construction projects ensuring that the evaluation, implementation, and verification of utility sponsored energy efficiency projects are successfully executed.
  • Conduct trade ally outreach, recruitment and training as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key market actors in the home improvement industry including architects, engineers, contractors, energy raters/consultants, home inspectors, public officials, public interest groups and customers.
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
  • 5+ years experience in residential or commercial energy efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Energy, Building Science or Construction Management or related subject with 1+ years of experience in residential or commercial energy efficiency OR
What we would like you to have:
  • Ability to read and interpret controlled construction documents highly preferred
  • Working on successful energy efficiency programs, with specific expertise in energy modeling, energy efficiency technologies and products, and commercial energy issues in both existing buildings and new construction
  • HERS, BPI, LEED, or Passive House credentials
  • Experience with energy modeling platforms, such as OpenStudio with EnergyPlus, Passive House, eQUEST, and/or IES
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key market actors in the commercial construction industry including architects, engineers, contractors, real estate agents, home energy rating specialists, developers, and public officials
  • Knowledge of building science principles and/or construction building codes
  • Commercial construction industry in Massachusetts or experience working with commercial construction at a utility, public agency or non-governmental organization

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$48,364.00 - $82,218.00
