Emergency Room Admitting Clerk - Full And Part Time

Southeast Texas HR is seeking a dependable Emergency Room Admitting Clerk to join our team in the hospital and healthcare industry. In this role, you will be responsible for providing quality customer service to all patients, visitors, and staff that enter the emergency department. You will be working closely with the nursing and ancillary staff to ensure that patients are registered, admitted, and discharged from the hospital in an efficient and timely manner. We have full and part-time positions available. Evening and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Greet and register patients as they enter the emergency department
• Obtain patient consents and signatures for treatment and procedures
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls
• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances at the time of registration
• Verify and update information to ensure accurate patient records
• Verify insurance information and communicate with insurance providers

Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Knowledge of insurance policies and procedures
• Ability to obtain immunization records
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Proficiency in computer skills and data entry
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
