OVERVIEW: Entry-level electronics engineering position. Uses fundamental engineering knowledge and practices to support design and development of prototype and concept projects. Receives instruction and close guidance from senior level engineers & managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SKILLS:
- Perform engineering analysis
- Able to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Ability to clearly communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Create engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and principles
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- 0 – 3 years of engineering experience
- Minimum of a Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Schematic and wire harness design and build experience
- Vehicle and system troubleshooting experience
- High Voltage system design experience
- Vehicle electronic systems design experience
- Experience with typical electronics tools: oscilloscope, voltmeter, power supplies, hand tools, etc
- Mechatronics design experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting activities along with basic electrical repairs on vehicles in a variety of work environments: workshops, outdoor test facilities, etc
- Ability to use common electronics hand tools and test equipment
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Occasional travel required
- Flexible work schedule
- 45 hours per week with occasional overtime required
PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: In addition to the items mentioned above, the ideal candidate may possess but not limited to all the following:
- MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow experience
- CAD tools
- Electrical and hybrid vehicle systems experience
- Autonomous & by-wire systems experience
- Mentor Graphics Vesys or Capital experience
- Communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Wireless 802.11, ethernet, etc
- Vector CAN tools
- Rapid prototyping tools: dSpace, MotoHawk, Raptor, OpenECU
- Printed circuit board design experience: Eagle PCB tools
This position will require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident or ability to meet licensure requirements.
