We have a unique opportunity for an entry-level Environmental Engineer for our Barrigada, Guam office to support office-based tasks and field activities.

What you will do:

You will have daily interactions with a multidisciplinary team of environmental professionals. Specific tasks include assisting senior staff with the following:

  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis, preparing SWPPPs, modeling systems (stormwater, wastewater, water), monitoring compliance at construction sites, preparing figures and maps in GIS and CADD, collecting environmental samples, collecting field data for environmental and natural resource projects, interpreting technical drawings, interface with contractors, support senior staff, prepare work plans and cost estimates, and perform field work.
  • You will assist in a wide range of environmental projects which could include construction oversight, demolition projects, water, wastewater, stormwater and civil design projects, solid and hazardous waste. The candidate must be comfortable working in an office and field environment.

What you will need:

  • Ability to work on your feet in a warm weather climate.
  • Ability to acquire access to military installations and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Attention to detail in following safety plans, work plans, collecting data, and preparing reports.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to convey information at an appropriate level of communication with varying levels of project staff.
  • Knowledge of GIS, ArcMap, GPS, and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to learn quickly are vital.
  • Able to work independently under general directions.
  • Able to work in both office and the field.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Protection Agency regulations preferred.
  • An understanding of environmental science/engineering within the Pacific region and/or coastal settings.
