Electro-Mechanical Assembler / Production Team

Summary of the Role:

Assembles a range of components into finished goods across production lines. Responsible for achieving daily production/assembly requirements per the production schedule. Responsible for safety, quality, and throughput working to meet customer expectations and requirements. Works with Production Leads to optimize throughput, improve efficiency, and maintain operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Connect cables, tubes, and wiring, according to specifications.
• Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames, using hand tools and power tools.
• Able to read and follow standard operating procedures.
• Exemplify adherence to procedures and instructions.
• Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
• Monitor and maintain all safety rules, equipment and tools.
• Ensure achievement of production throughput against stated capacity targets.
• Ensure full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices at all times.
• Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts, using drill presses and portable power drills.
• Ensure that non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated.
• Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
• File, lap, and buff parts to fit, using hand and power tools.
• Ensure all documents / records are completed appropriately.

Desired Skills, Attributes and Requirements:

• High levels of motivation, optimistic and action orientated.
• Experience using hand-held tools and power tools.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and recognized Six Sigma tools (Yellow, Green Belt, etc.) is a plus.
• Technical Program Certification (TCI) or equivalent work experience.
• Good verbal communication and team-building skills.
• Good organization and problem-solving skills.
