Job Description
Do you want to be part of an iconic local project?
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Supervisor to join the Lombrum Naval Base Infrastructure project team based on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea (PNG). In this role you will effectively be responsible for overseeing the installation of overhead power lines, power station electrical installations, and electrical installations in commercial buildings, ensuring that all works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
This role is based on Manus Island in PNG working 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off – 11 hours per day. Flights are preferred from Brisbane or Cairns but the project will consider other locations in Australia.

Your focus will include: 
  • Management of inventory and procurement of equipment and materials to progress project and ensure work is being carried out according to plan and within budget
  • Oversee the installation of electrical conduits within trenches - includes civil trenching works and manual backfill of trenches to site specifications
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes, including safety regulations
  • Preparation of progress reports for management and client and communicating actions to resolve defects and issues at hand
  • Supervise the installation and maintenance of electrical works for powerlines, power stations and commercial buildings
What you will bring to the team: 
  • Work Safely at Heights
  • Relevant industry experience within the HV transmission and distribution industry preferred
  • Trade Qualified and current Australian Electrical Licence (unrestricted)
  • License to Perform High Risk Work Elevated Work Platform (WP) endorsement
  • 5+ years minimum in a similar role in the civil infrastructure or construction industry
  • Strong installation and supervision experience of staff and subcontracts including the ability to lead and manage change
  • Confined Space Entry (desirable)
