Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, Michigan facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $88837.47 - $130294.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:
Primary Function
The manufacturing Front line Leader is responsible to lead operations for hourly employees in the Indirect Value Stream. These operations include functions such as packaging, inventory control, material flow, and coordination of material for the direct manufacturing process. This position is also responsible to drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and other cost measures through use of the Eaton Business System (EBS) tools.
Essential Functions
- You will guide a Safety Culture through using MESH tools, safety best practices, and empowering all employees to take responsibility for their own safety as well as others they work with.
- You will assist in expediting material, where required, to meet customer requirements also lead areas of responsibility in the use of EBS practices, including MESH, Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS), EQS, ProLaunch, and BOS/BSC, with focus on performance of the entire value stream. Keep focus on meeting customer needs, both internal and external (Customer Centric Focus / KBKC)
- You will utilize the Tiered Meeting process to track and analyze key operational metrics and implement actions to improve operational performance and direct day-to-day activities, including manpower movement, job assignments, time/attendance/vacation data, etc.
- You will manage proper inventory levels, transactional control, material flow, and packaging requirements and create process improvements for inventory management process, maintain inventory reports, analyze material movement improvements, and establish inventory locations and space utilization strategies. Responsible for 98% cycle count accuracy.
- You will guide teamwork through the Continuous Improvement Framework process and use of ELSS tools to continuously improve operational performance. Participate in other CI Teams as appropriate and collaborate with the other Manufacturing Supervisors to schedule overtime, and execute to labor plan.
- You will coach employees one-on-one to address performance issues and drive operator accountability and also establish and maintain a positive, engaged employee team sentiment through application of Eaton’s Values, Ethics, and Philosophies and empowering employees to make decisions, innovate, and work in a continuous learning environment
Qualifications:
Required/Basic Qualifications:
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or 5+ years of relevant supervisor experience required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in operations and/or in a manufacturing environment
Skills:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes (safety, environmental, assembly, gauging, AS9100)
- Strong leadership, coaching, and influence management skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
- Two (2) or more years of experience in operations or manufacturing is a plus
- Must be able to establish priorities and balance multiple objectives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer Skills: demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with MRP system
- Experience in interpreting contractual language of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA)
- Master's degree from an accredited institution
- Experience managing shop floor associates in a union environment
