Salem Author Services, the nation’s largest on-demand digital publisher of books targeting the Christian audience, is currently seeking a full-time Book Editor to join our staff. The top candidate will be proactive and self-starting with strong experience in editing and publishing. Along with excellent written and verbal skills, our ideal candidate will have real-world experience in high-volume publishing for books and/or magazines. The candidate must also have great customer service skills to be able to interact with authors and across departments. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment, while possessing an overall drive to complete work on deadline without supervision.

Position Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate ability to thrive in a demanding, goal-oriented environment
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in English, Linguistics, Journalism or Communications
• 1 to 3 years of professional editing experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Word
• Possess strong copy editing and writing skills
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
• Demonstrate capability of completing multiple types of editing, such as copy editing, line editing, content/plot editing, and manuscript development
• Derive job satisfaction from delivering the best edits possible
• Must be organized, able to take initiative from a supervisor, and pay attention to detail
