Early Childhood Education (Ece) Coach (Part-Time, Wage)

This position will require traveling to programs in the North Central and Blue Ridge areas of VA. Additional travel sites may be added across VA.

Role and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks of varying complexity, with demonstrated accountability and excellent attention to detail while implementing flexible problem-solving skills.
• Contribute to the development of curriculum materials and training for use in consultation and coaching, with attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Assist educators in using data from assessment tools (such as CLASS, VKRP, PALS, and child and classroom data) information to improve quality.
• Regularly plan, schedule, and provide individualized or group coaching sessions (based on established coaching protocols) for education leaders and teachers. These will be held virtual ly on Zoom , in-person at sites, and at least one in-person group training on one Saturday per month .
• Contribute to outreach and recruitment of classrooms, programs, and leaders.
• Develop a deep understanding of the STREAMin 3 Curriculum Model.

• A bachelor's degree .
• At least three years of experience. Master's degree will be considered in lieu of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications for candidates include:

• Experience with coaching, consulting, technical assistance , or training adult educators and leaders in individual and group settings.
• The capacity to work early evenings, and some Saturdays.
• Experience using and/or supporting the implementation of a comprehensive curriculum model.
• The capacity to travel to program locations or training in Virginia, specifically, but not limited to the Blue Ridge and North Central regions of the state ( VECF Map of Regions ) .
• Spanish proficiency ( fluent in written and oral communication)

• Proficiency in use of technology:
• Experience with serving programs with diverse populations in various settings, including centers and Family Day homes.
• Virtual platforms or storage (e.g., Google Docs, Box, Trello)

• • Project management tools (e.g., Trello, Smartsheet)

  • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Videoconferencing, teaching, or webinar tools (e.g., Zoom, Canvas)

  • Virtual platforms or storage (e.g., Google Docs, Box, Trello)

• Excellent executive function skills: organization, time management, shifting focus (multitasking; alternating focus on details and ‘the big picture’ as needed).

• This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings and programs.

Compensation Information

Wage position. Pay is $30/hour.
