This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Early Career Electrical Designer for our New York, NY office.

Be involved in projects with our Properties & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. We are a global leader in the practice of structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering and related specialty services for the built environment. We work closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment.

Our Engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. WSP offers excellent growth opportunities.

Your Impact

  • Coordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team members
  • Work within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners
  • Scheduling and selecting of electical components and equipment
  • Design of fire alarm systems

  • Construction administration
  • Design of lighting and lighting control systems
  • Design of electric distribution systems
  • Perform electrical load, short circuit and voltage drop calculations

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Recent graduate or May 2024 Graduate in an accredited Electrical Engineering Program with focus on Power.
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have 0-3 years of internship experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD software.

Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $53,200 - $93,000
