This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Environmental Chemist for our Buffalo, New York office. Be involved in projects with our Site Assessment and Remediation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Field sampling, field testing, and environmental sample processing.
  • Coordination with subcontracted laboratories including preparation of statements of work, data review and validation, and QA/QC oversight.
  • Quality assurance of environmental chemistry data.
  • Preparation of quality assurance plans and data usability and quality control summary reports.
  • Management of electronic laboratory and field data using EarthSoft EQuIS Professional, EQuIS Data Processor, EPA Scribe, Microsoft Access, and other project-specific databases.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and EPA analytical methods and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or closely related discipline.
  • Strong computer skills including relational database experience and excellent proficiency with Microsoft Suite, i.e. Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel and perform field work to support business needs.
  • Experience with Access, EQuIS, Scribe, and database maintenance.
  • Environmental laboratory analyst experience is strongly preferred.
  • Masters Degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, analytical, and technical writing skills with a high degree of attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Expected Salary: $53,200 - $93,000
