Responsibilities
Take charge of the billing and collection process, encompassing various tasks such as working on assigned reports, including aging reports, timely filing reports, credit balance reports, and rejection reports.
Conduct research and promptly resolve rejected claims, ensuring accuracy and completeness by posting payments and resubmitting claims with necessary supporting documentation.
Effectively communicate with clients, caregivers, and insurance companies, addressing billing inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
Proactively reach out to payers, either through phone calls or by utilizing payer websites, to obtain claim status updates and secure payment for outstanding claims.
Play a key role in problem-solving by resolving billing issues in collaboration with clients, all while adhering to HIPAA compliance and ethical standards.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required
3+ years of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing/coding experience - Required
Proven Experience In Insurance Claims Collections - Required
Familiarity with Medicare and/or Medicaid processes - Required
Preferred Experience With EDI Transmissions - Strongly Preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders - Required
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating efficiency and adaptability - Required
