• Obtain medical/dental histories
• Perform dental care, training, and education to clients/residents
• Select appropriate instruments, materials, and medications
• Examination and treatment of periodontics, endodontics, prosthetics, oral surgery, and restorative procedures
• Make appointments, maintain dental records, maintain supplies and equipment, and sterilize instruments
• Chair-side dental assisting for the dentist and hygienist in the dental clinic

• Ability to select appropriate equipment and perform proper usage
• Ability to work with those who may exhibit challenging behavior and positively aid patients in treatment
• Ability to train others in dental care
• Skills applicable to dental routines, terms, instruments, materials, techniques of dental x-ray, charting, and sterilization techniques
