DSHS DDA Developmental Disabilities Administrator - Temporary

We're looking for a Developmental Disabilities Administrator to provide leadership and supervision to staff who develop, implement, or manage social, financial, and health service programs in our offices located in Everett, WA. You will be establishing a new Team of Service Request and Referral Case Managers. This is an opportunity to work closely with Leadership to support clients and their families to access DDA Services. This will include supporting staff to conduct outreach to clients, referrals to community resources, and accessing DDA services. In this role, you will also provide training to staff in an effort to enhance the delivery of service. Where you will work
We support a hybrid work model. You and your supervisor will identify an appropriate work schedule, which may include the options to continue with the hybrid work model, modified work schedules, work at the duty station, or telework. Some of what you'll do:
- Work closely with Statewide and Regional leadership to establish this newly funded program
- Read reports, monitor performance concerts, and conduct performance evaluations for unit/team
- Manage regional case management service's budget
- Provide direct supervision to case managers, social workers, and support staff through individual and group meetings
- Establish processes for meeting goals and objectives within the work unit
- Interview and recommend potential new hires to the appointing authority
- Direct the work activities of the unit/team; set goals and priorities, orient and train new staff, monitor and assign caseloads and work assignments
- Review and make recommendations for service authorizations
- Prepare/review reports and staffing requests
- Represent the Division and/or facilitate meetings in the community and with other state and local departments, administrations, and agencies
- Consult on individual cases and complex problems/issues with clients and/or service providers
What we are looking for:
- Ability to identify and notify appropriate entities of dangerous situations
- Ability to lead others and organize work assignments
- Possess mental health crises management experience
- Ability to plan, organize, direct and evaluate the work of others
- Experience consulting with staff on services offered to clients and families
- Experience working with clients and families in a social service setting
- Supervisory experience
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity
Who should apply?
Professionals with a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, special education, business administration, public administration, or other related fields AND four years of professional experience in the human services field of which:
(A) two years of experience working in the community with individuals whose primary diagnosis is developmental disabilities;
(B) one year of supervisory, administrative, or professional program service delivery responsibility.
With the exception of (A) and (B), graduate training may be substituted, year for year, for the required experience.
