The Opportunity


The downstream operator has an important priority to ensure the efficient operation of the Tetra Pak packaging equipment, and to ensure the packaging follows the compliance of the customer specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.


This position is a 3rd shift position, working Monday through Friday, from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. This position pays $19.00 an hour, plus a shift differential.


Responsibilities 


  • Ensure adequate supply of packaging materials and communicate resource requirements for replenishment.
  • Maintains clean area around equipment.
  • Determine acceptable quality ranges on packaging and when to shut down as required.
  • Coordinate communication between palletizing and filler operations.
  • Technical Support in appropriate maintenance activities.
  • Judge and prioritize downtime events.
  • Maintains communication within the production team ensuring smooth shift transitions, etc.
  • Provides back-up to QA in his/ her absence (vacation, time off, sickness, etc.).
  • Complies with good manufacturing practices.
  • Monitors raw materials and supplies to ensure efficient production.
  • Conducts required quality checks and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Monitors and fixes faults as well as clearing any material jams in equipment.


Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Manufacturing related experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • A commitment to a strong quality culture.
  • Tetra Pak operational experience preferred.
  • A commitment to a strong health and safety culture.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices preferred.

This is a 3rd shift, full-time role based out of our Verona, Virginia manufacturing facility.
