Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.

Your Impact:

We challenge what is accepted, so we can shape innovative and lasting solutions for tomorrow. If you’re interested in a long and rewarding career working with the #1 ranked most admired engineering / construction company in the world, then Jacobs is where you belong. We are looking for a driven and curious Document Control Professional in Herndon, Virginia and Washington, D.C. to support our Team.

As the opportunities present, we’ll ask you to actively manage and report on the status of the project schedule and budget. Monitor and document contract progress and make recommendations to the client for contractor payments, change orders, and requests for information (RFIs).

You’ll conduct site meetings, coordinate and oversee field activities for testing and inspection reviews as well as participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost control, schedule control, change management, risk management and performance.

In addition, you may be asked to support the development of a client compliance program. This may involve performing or assisting in the performance of construction specification research with the ultimate goal of helping to formulate a complete quality assurance policy for our client.

Join us and we will assist you in continuing the development of your skills and exploring all that you can do across our global company, with opportunities to share your knowledge along the way.

At Jacobs, we’re partnering across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates. By joining Jacobs, you’ll commit to supporting and engaging with these teams, as we work to build a company like no other.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Experience with MS Office, SharePoint, Prolog Manager (or similar EDMS)
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Working knowledge of construction materials, means, and methods
  • Previous professional working experience in inspection/construction management or resident engineering of transportation projects
  • On-site attendance as required by internal and external customers.
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams
  • Working knowledge of construction contract requirements.
Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:
  • Experience with ProjectWise, Prolog, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with engineering, architectural, and construction documents (i.e., maps, drawings, technical specifications, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of technical terminology
