Position Title: Distribution Manager


Location: Green River, WY


Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for oversite of track maintenance and Distribution expense budget for both Westvaco and Granger facilities
  • Distribution Staffing and long-term scheduling
  • Technical Leadership & strategic focus on long-term business performance
  • Provide customer support for handling, storage, and use of Green River products, including design, troubleshooting and start-up of customer systems (e.g., transloading)
  • Drive development of SOPs, Quality Management System and work instructions to improve standardization and quality of work
  • Oversight of ISO9000, Pharma (Q7) and Food Safety Systems and compliance for the Distribution Department functions
  • Area budget, including capital spending and forecast
  • Work collaboratively with the Philadelphia Supply Chain and Customer Service to ensure consistent support across locations
  • Oversight and management of Distribution leadership activities
  • Cost, shipping, regulatory and environmental compliance
  • Primary Distribution point of contact for Green River Production Operations and Sales & Marketing functions for forecasting, planning, scheduling, and questions
  • Long and short-term planning; business, facilities and capital.
  • Develop and maintain high-functioning working relationship with UP personnel, Switching Service Company and ANSAC
  • Leadership and direction to the Distribution team including growth and professional development of the staff
  • Department Safety and Environmental Action Plans, safety and environmental results, site expertise and support of rail safety management
  • KPI results and Management Control and Reporting System


Activities:


  • Provide input and execute in accordance with the S&OP forecast and MPS
  • Act as local contact for purchase and swap tonnage
  • Represent the Distribution department during customer, certification and regulatory audits/inspections.
  • Support ISO 9000, Q7A, and FSSC 22000 efforts
  • Serve as link/facilitator between supply chain and surface business leaders as well as sales & marketing
  • Act as local contact with railroad on resolution of logistical issues
  • Root cause analyses and corrective actions
  • Provide input on rail strategy
  • Participate in customer relations and investigation and resolution
  • Ensure support and compliance for food safety requirements
  • Perform long term and short term planning; include business, facilities and capital.
  • Project Management Yard Management System
  • Serve as a member of Product Withdrawal/Recall/Recover CAC
  • Develop and implement changes to improve productivity, reliability and cost improvement
  • Ensure key quality metrics are met for area.
  • Member of the Food Safety Team/Quality Steering Team
  • Provide input on railcar fleet management and utilization


Skill, Capability, and Educational Requirements:


  • Candidates with rail distribution experience and logistics management will be given preference
  • B.S. in Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
  • 10 years of manufacturing, sales operational planning or logistics experience preferred


Final determination on pay grade will be made by HR and company leadership consistent with the skills matrix and considering the candidates education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership and influence.
