Job Description

Our client is looking to hire a Director/Sr Director Operations, who will play a critical role in overseeing the management and maintenance of the company's facilities. You will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to ensure the efficient operation and optimal functionality of the facilities. This includes laboratory operations, procurement, EHS, and Information Technology. You will be coordinating maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and developing long-term facility plans.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, renovations, and space planning.
  • Manage and lead a team of facility professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive facility management strategies to support the company's goals and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Oversee facility budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in facility operations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external service providers and suppliers.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in facility management.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to schedule and perform maintenance and repairs.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards applicable to facilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company. This experience should ideally include progressively increasing levels of responsibility, including overseeing facility operations, managing budgets, leading teams, and implementing facility improvement projects.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends, as required.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using facility management software and other relevant tools.
