Summary and Qualifications:

Manage the strategic finance function for Mars Veterinary Health North America (MVH NA) in collaboration with the Leadership Team, MVH Strategy team and Business Unit finance and strategy teams.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Partner with FP&A on long term planning – impact of industry trends, investments needed
  • Frame the business case, quantify value pools and return on investment for transformational initiatives, focusing on the mid-to long term value creation.
  • Be an active member of the MVH Finance team, partnering across functions to drive an engaged and cohesive finance function
  • Other job duties as assigned.
  • Be the financial point person for all the MVH initiatives or projects where financial support is necessary.
  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Lead strategic support to functional areas - primarily IT, Veterinary, Commercial and P&O - when exploring new business models and transformations, addressing Consumer and Veterinary Market trends from both a services and labor perspective, ensuring that the financial partnership is pro-active and embedded in the teams driving future strategies

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
  • Environment where pets are present.
  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Health care background (veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful actional insights from complex external and internal data sets is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Leadership of Strategy and new consumer driven business model analytics in a complex multi-unit environment are preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in Finance in Retail, Healthcare or a multi-unit consumer facing service industry are required.
  • Master’s degree in Business and/or Finance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder and peer relationships and lead effective and agile teams is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Finance is preferred, or a combination of education, training and experience to provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Salary: $169,000 – $254,000
