We are seeking a Director – Solution Architect to lead the architecture strategy and serve as the highest level technical application and/or business architecture expert for our Enterprise Technology Operations organization. The ideal candidate will offer thoughtful, technical leadership and direction, and work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions that align with business objectives.

The Director – Solution Architect will support the development of architecture principles, styles, patterns, and standards for systems across the business, translating corporate strategy into technical strategy.

The Work Itself

  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the industry; collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions that align with business objectives
  • Participate in technical reviews and audits to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to other architects, engineers, and technical staff members; effectively communicate with other senior leaders of IT on program strategies and plans and negotiate quality solutions
  • Manage, mentor, and coach a technical team; direct management responsibility for one or more technical resources
  • Provide cost-effective solutions that enable the business and maximize flexibility to integrate with other systems
  • Review legacy architecture, identify components strategically aligned for re-architecture, monitor technology usage for end-of-life cycle; create and maintain documentation related to solution architecture and design decisions
  • Design and implement multi-cloud and on-premise solutions that are scalable, secure, and efficient, using AWS, OpenShift, VMware, and other end-user computing technologies
  • Develop and drive the short- and long-term architecture strategy and portfolio needs for key business segments
  • Lead cross-functional team to drive peer reviews, gain consensus, and finalize proposed solutions with all stakeholders; communicate and validate architecture with executive IT stakeholders, architects, and technologists

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System, or other relevant field of study preferred
  • Expert knowledge of the software development process and Information Security Policy and Procedures and how they fit within the IT architecture and infrastructure
  • Ability to develop enterprise guidelines and standards; expert knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems or expert knowledge of key business functions and processes
  • Ability to lead or interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams made up of employee, business partner, and/or supplier resources
  • 7+ years of experience and in-depth technical knowledge of standards in IT architecture and infrastructure, including expertise in AWS, OpenShift, VMware, and other relevant technologies
