Director of Training

The Director of Training will be the organizational leader for all aspects of training at Andy’s Frozen Custard.This detail-oriented, organized, and motivated individual will be responsible for creating all training materials for the company, implementing the training materials, and working alongside team members and managers to grow and develop our teams at both new store openings and current locations.

Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Build program to track training and training progress by coordinating with Operations and HR.
• Collaborate with Operations and Ops Services as needed to address role specific training needs.
• Implement and maintain certified training store program and identify key people to assist with training efforts in their markets.
• Collaborate with operations team to identify opportunities for improvement and work to develop system-wide training solutions.
• Ensure that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
• Travel extensively to both company and franchise markets to monitor training progress and launch new and ongoing training focuses.
• Develop and implement e-learning courses, workshops and other training programs.
• Monitor and manage all MIT’s progress, alongside the Operations team, to ensure the success of each internal management promote or new hire.
• Review existing training programs; suggest enhancements and modifications to improve training effectiveness while maintaining operational goals.
• Work hands on in-store on a regular basis to maintain skill set required for position.
• Maintain knowledge of new methods, trends, and techniques in the overall realm of training.
• Utilize a single-source platform for storing and accessing training materials company-wide.
• Review and optimize new store opening process
• Design and facilitate in-store training materials and programs in both print and digital formats
• Communicate regularly with Operations team in order to proactively lead and manage the training area by getting ahead of identified issues before they become problematic.
• Develop Franchise Trainer certification process.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience
• Reliable transportation
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Job based in Springfield, Missouri
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Training/Development role, preferably in a multi-unit restaurant or retail environment
• Superior interpersonal skills including strong public speaking abilities
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing, spontaneous environment
• Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
• Excellent writing abilities

Physical Requirements:

• Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances
• Constant standing/walking and sitting
• Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine.
• Constant computer/POS Register and fountain equipment usage.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs independently and safely
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps.
• Constant reaching, turning, and performing precision work around fountain area
• Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
