Job Description
El Dorado Promise Director Reports to: Superintendent of Schools Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt Length of Contract: 240 days Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Salary: $60,526.50 - $64,256.50 Primary Purpose: The El Dorado Promise Director must be a poised and well spoken liaison who represents, promotes and educates others on The Promise for El Dorado School District. They must possess the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with administrators, outside agencies, and Promise scholars. They must oversee the administration of the Promise Scholarships and effectively communicate with those involved regarding the implementation of said scholarships in a timely manner. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/ Certification: Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of Google Suite including but not limited to docs, sheets, and formsCorrect English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabularyExcellent communication skillsConfident, enthusiastic and articulate public speaking skills with an audience ranging from Kindergarteners to adultsThe determination to set goals and the self motivation to accomplish them in a timely mannerThe ability to plan, organize and execute eventsPreferred Experience: MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Takes applications from high school seniorsDetermines the eligibility of each seniorConduct individual interviews with Promise ScholarsExplain the program to students and gets a contract signed by each Promise ScholarKeeps a database of payments and eligibility on all Promise Scholars for five (5) yearsNotifies all colleges participating each year of Promise Scholars, their percent of funding and requests Promise Scholar account statementsReviews each statement of account and determines the level of funding for each studentSubmits invoices to Murphy Oil Corporation for payment of scholarshipsConducts surveys and prepares data as required by Murphy Oil and El Dorado School District (ESD)Reviews transcripts for continued eligibilityArranges appeals, forwards to Appeal Board and records determinationsVisits and discusses the Promise with ESD students K-8Speaks about the program to EHS classes, civic clubs, churches, and community eventsIs a source of contact for students, parents, colleges, and community about the programCreate and implement a promotional each year for the Promise.
Provide annual updates to the El Dorado School Board.Planning, organizing and execution of Academic Signing for Seniors in collaboration with El Dorado Education FoundationResponds to all questions and requests for The Promise Ability To: Organize, maintain and operate multiple spreadsheets Create, organize, and distribute invoices for scholarship processing and paymentRead and understand transcripts for students continuing eligibilityObtain, evaluate and process occupational literatureWork independently using effective public relations skills with little directionEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with Murphy Oil, ESD, college officials and promise scholars.Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of actionMeet schedules and timelinesPlan and organize workGive clear and precise instructions for Promise Scholars in regards to Promise scholarship requirementsCreate, schedule, plan and execute Promise events The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills that may be required.
