EquipmentShare is hiring a Director of Talent Management to accelerate the success of the company’s most important asset: our employees. This US based role offers flexibility in most remote locations and/or at our HQ in Columbia, MO. EquipmentShare is the fastest-growing, independently owned construction equipment rental company in the country. This is an exciting HR leadership opportunity that directly impacts our “people first” mission and culture.
Primary Responsibilities
The Director of Talent Management is responsible for designing and delivering company-wide talent solutions, insights and programs that accelerate the success of EquipmentShare’s most important asset: our employees. This functional HR leader will introduce and launch performance management systems and strategic programs focused on retention, promotion and succession planning. Other details include:
  • Employee Development: Design and implement comprehensive employee development programs that align with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify skill gaps and training needs across the organization. Develop career paths, succession plans, and mentoring programs to foster professional growth and retention.
  • Compliance and Diversity: Ensure talent management practices comply with relevant employment laws and regulations. Promote diversity and inclusion throughout the talent lifecycle, including recruitment, development, and promotion.
  • Performance Management: Establish and maintain an effective performance management system. Develop and implement performance evaluation processes, performance metrics, and goal-setting frameworks. Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on performance improvement and development plans.
  • Succession Planning: Develop and implement succession planning strategies to ensure the organization has a pipeline of talented individuals ready to assume key roles. Identify high-potential employees and create development plans to prepare them for future leadership positions.
  • Talent Analytics: Utilize data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of talent management strategies and programs. Identify trends and insights to make data-driven decisions and continuous improvements. In partnership with our People Analytics organization, develop and maintain talent metrics and dashboards to monitor key talent indicators.
  • Employer Branding: Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop and enhance the organization's employer brand. Promote the organization as an employer of choice through various channels, including social media, industry events, and professional networks.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar are a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly to change.
  • High level of integrity, trust, and confidentiality required.
  • Proven experience in talent management, human resources, or a related field, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics and relationship management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive talent management decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and succession planning.
