QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

· Master's Degree in a related field

· Special Education or Principal/Mid-Management Certification

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading special education programs

· Some experience in a successful leadership role at the Campus, District, or State level

Special Knowledge & Skills

· Knowledge of federal and state special education law

· Knowledge of state and federal compliance reports/indicators such as State Performance Plan (SPP), Residential Facility Monitoring, and Result-Driven Accountability (RDA)

· Understanding of the individual needs of students receiving special education services

· Evidence of staff development experience, committee work, and past experience applicable to the position

· Ability to communicate with all levels of students in special education programs and their parents

· Ability to implement policy and procedures

· Ability to interpret data

· Ability to manage budget and personnel

· Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
