Job Description
Basic Job Function:Lead the day-to-day business operations of the Rooms Division, with specific responsibility for all Sea Island Room Division operations. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality while upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures, along with attaining Company financial targets. Direct Reports: Director of Front Office CloisterDirector of Housekeeping CloisterGuest Service Manager CloisterExclusive Resorts Manager Minimum Requirements: Minimum five (5) years of Director of Rooms experience in an upscale hotel or resortProven leadership and service experience in luxury hotels and resorts, with concentration on Rooms, Guest Services and OperationsExperience with managing multiple departments and budgets in the areas of: Rooms, Guest Services, Housekeeping and related Rooms Division operationsAbility to manage and critique labor and operating expenses to maximize both profitability and customer service experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent credentialsBachelors degree in Hospitality (four year degree) preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalMonitor and maximize service quality to be in compliance with the highest Forbes service standardsMust project a positive attitude and have a history of developing and coaching teams.Must possess the ability to guide and develop staff to achieve growth and career progressionMust be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesMust be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Tasks/Responsibilities: Maintain high visibility and hands on management style, with high levels of engagement with guests, members and staff Work with all resort departments to maintain maximum rapport and open communication channels to anticipate and satisfy member and guest needs and demandsInterview, hire, train, and manage the performance and development of direct reportsSupport the Human Resources Team and their training efforts to drive individual and collective staff developmentPreparation of operating budgets, capital budgets, and forecasts, and analysis of financial performance as well as monitoring and managing the financial performance to meet business goals and objectivesFoster an environment of creative solutions and ideas for improving service and efficiencyCreation and maintenance of five-star/five diamond service standards, and responsibility for service delivery consistent with these standardsMonitoring of all guest and employee areas for cleanliness, repair, and appearance, in accordance with company design criteria and standardsPromotions and program creation to drive rooms division revenues, create efficiency and value/service enhancementsFocus and high levels of contact with employees, guests, and Sea Island Club membersBe vigilant in the reporting and resolving of all guest problems to their full and complete resolutionFoster an environment where guest defects are openly reported and long term solutions are developed and implemented for their eliminationSet a high personal standard and has high integrityUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and proceduresReport to work at scheduled time, neatly groomed and following company dress code policyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership Physical Requirements: Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsAbility to perform mathematical calculationsIf applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to thirty (30) lbs repeatedly throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards Maintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
