Job Description

We are conducting a confidential search for a Director, Purchasing with a company that is a global supplier of industrial components to the automotive, commercial vehicle, and off-road vehicle markets. This is a direct-hire position and it is located in the metro Minneapolis area


This individual will establish and implement a supply chain strategy, with specific focus on purchasing of specific systems and components to ensure appropriate levels of material availability to match capacity to demand. This person will collaborate and use experience, knowledge, and strong communication skills to drive improvements across the full end-to-end spectrum of purchasing.


Some key responsibilities will include:


-Set the vision and strategy for Procurement to ensure a “Best-in-Class” Program

-Develop and nurture critical supplier relationships

-Partner with functional leaders to build capabilities of Procurement and evolve the organization

-Provide direct leadership to business unit purchasing team

-Ensure robust risk identification, escalation, mitigation, and resolution processes are implemented and sustained

-Establish, monitor, and measure with metrics and Key Process Indicators (KPIs)

-Identify and eliminate waste, streamline processes, and automate where possible

-Present and report out the status of the supply chain, forecasts and clearly articulate critical recommendations on a regular occurrence

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:


* Bachelors degree, advance degree preferred

* 10+ years Supply Chain Management experience

* Experience leading complex projects

* Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement principals

* Experience in the automotive, transportation, and/or aerospace industries is a plus
