This position serves as the business owner for CAHPS & HOS provider engagement strategies specifically focused on measures included in the patient experience (PX) program (GNC, GCQ, COC, and all HOS measures). This role will be the relationship manager for key provider groups and provide coordination between regional partners, market leads, executive stars leadership, and provider facing reps. The individual in the role will be accountable for tracking and monitoring provider KPIs including ACV utilization, PX scores, and any additional provider metrics that measure performance. This role will have 2 direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains alliances with business partners like Press Gainey, consultants, vendors, and providers to meet / exceed business objectives
  • Direct management oversight for business process initiatives that support provider facing teams like QFO, ACO, and key partners like Optum and WellMed
  • Identification and development of operational quality improvements, and strategic planning
  • Coordinate all elements of the PX program including cross functional coordination and cooperation to ensure timely and effective decision making on key issues
  • Develops and implements strategic and operational plans to achieve quality and affordability targets
  • Successfully recruits and develops staff to continuously improve their overall effectiveness and engagement
  • Develop organizational structure and resource allocation between geographical locations to assure the most efficient and successful operational results for both east and west region
  • Develops and maintains superior communication strategies
  • Serve as SME, ensure approach aligned to best-in-class patient experience practices and understand the competitive landscape
  • Plays leadership role in various aspects of key strategies and serve as the main point of contact for all provider partners
  • Work closely with market leads and regional teams to have the most innovative local strategies
  • Pursues continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, operational metrics, processes, and competence of staff and cost reduction
  • Directs resources in the most efficient manner to meet organizational objectives
  • Serve as liaison between national and local teams, providing assistance and direction for PX tools and resources like PX tracker, and MAPCPi to ensure timelines and desired business outcomes are realized

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Medicare specific Star Quality measures and performance metrics
  • 5+ years of experience, with demonstrated functional knowledge, process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of CAHPS & HOS measures and survey administration
  • 7+ years of experience in leading significant and diverse operations in the healthcare services industry
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related business applications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the managed care/health insurance industry, products and services
  • 3+ years of experience in Health Care Consulting

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $118,000 to $226,800. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
